Every packing line kicks out fruit that's too small, too big, double-lobed, or just oddly shaped — even when the flesh underneath is identical to what ends up in a grocery bin.
Historically that fruit gets landfilled, composted, or sold at a loss to whoever happens to be nearby. We think that's a waste of good produce and a waste of money for the people growing it.
Ugly Duck Produce is a lean Mid-Atlantic team, not a national logistics company. We keep freight radius tight (~200 miles) so hauls stay cheap and fruit stays fresh, and we keep the match process fast — usually under 48 hours from listing to dispatch.
